Before you put your beef in the slow cooker season it and roll it in flour. Lightly brown it in a little oil on the stove. Then add it to the slow cooker. The flour will help make the broth thick like gravy. About an hour before it's done check and see if it's as thick as you want it. If not just mix two tablespoons of four with water till it's smooth, stir it in and let it finish cooking for the next hour.
