Food-related competitions and trials in UK & Europe?

I'm wondering what challenging food competitions take place throughout the year? I can think of things like truffles, oysters and wine which have competitions based around them, but is there anything else? Anything local and extreme in the UK or elsewhere? How about up in Finland? Or in Spain?
