I think it would be "King" Harley Race who had the best gimmick.After he won the King of the Ring tourney in 1986, he became The King and used the proper royal crown and cape that goes with the honor.Even the music that accompanied his entrance "The Great Gates of Kiev" had a royal-sounding tone.Then after Harley had beaten his opponents, they had to bow down and kneel before him.This was all clic storytelling and using a properly-performed gimmick that wasn't contrived like King Booker's.That's what made it so entertaining and unforgettable.
