Can someone please answer my questions about cancer coming back?

Well your mother took radical measures to get rid of her cancer. To have it in stage one (and not more advanced) having had both removed AND Chemotherapy. The odds are in her favor that it won't come back. Do you even know what stage cancer those other women were in when diagnosed? Did they go through radical treatment like your mom? Did they have cancer originally? There are many varying factors as to why their cancer might have returned. IF you spend your time worrying about it, it will drive you crazy, and rob you of the joy at the moments that you have with your mom. MOst people that I know that have cancer in my family, were those that did not ever get checkups and ignored serious warning signs. Out of love, just go with her at her checkps, and make sure she is having her checkups. Listen, my own mother is 67 yrs old, and has NEVER, and I mean NEVER had a Mammogram., IT has been about 25 yrs since she last had a Pap SMear. Her own twin brother is dying of cancer that had started in his prostate. HE had blood in his urine for nearly two years before he went to the doc. By then it was too late. I guess stupidity runs in my family, but it does not in yours. Don't worry
