Why do people kc register their dogs?

You dog normally has to be a full pedigree and has to have come from a kc registered breeder although they take other full breeds. Yes you have to pay and no it doesn't really stand for anything all you get is a certificate, people just do it because they feel that it makes their dog more of a better breed or to enter the competitions they provide like agility, when really it's nothing and goes to funding things like crufts, which we all have probably seen the show about, and how it's not really what you want you money going towards. Im pretty sure you have to send off blood samples from your dog for certain things as-well on the kc but not too sure.
