If Bush had dropped Chaney in '04, would his choice for VP run in '08? Or had a real chance to win?

He should have gotten rid of Cheney for many reasons, but I imagine Bush took the same approach to this issue as he has every issue: he asked Cheney for his opinion and went with it.
