Is it really worth it to pledge a soroity?

You see in movies and tv that they make soroities look so glamorous, but in reality they aren't. I've heard some people say how much they love theirs and there is no drama and hazing, while others tell nightmare stories. I don't know what to do. Is it really worth it to join?
