Isn't creationism just as much a theory as evolution?

I've noticed more than a few people in here being very vocal about there disbelief and proof against evolution. Now what I don't understand is how people can say that about evolution, which has been looked over by some of the most intelligent people in the world, then say that creationism is the real truth?
