Why are the Llanelli Scarlets called the Turks?

All people from Llanelli are called Turks. I'm not sure what date the story originates from but there was a strike at Swansea docks and they would not let Turkish cargo ships in. The Turks then had to travel down the coast to Llanelli and dock there instead. Since then people from Llanelli have been know as Turks.
