Why do people make a big deal out of PSAT vocab?

Well, if you're telling the truth, you've got an exceptional vocabulary for an 8th grader. Words like halcyon, feckless and onerous aren't part of the average 8th grade lexicon. Maybe you don't need to study vocabulary, but the vast majority of people do.
