Anyone know the name of a movie? it might be the second movie to lilies of the field.?

I thought it was lilies of the field but when i watched that movie today it wasn't what i thought it was, The movie i am looking for has to do with nuns and a man (who is african american) coming to there place but the chapel has already been built and they are now running some kind of orphanage and the guy this time is helping them find some kind of bell to go on top of the chapel he built, the guys name is homer smith. In the movie it had the same song that lilies of the field had which is called "amen" im looking all over the place for the name of the movie but i cant find it, HELP???? anyone know what im talking about?
