Does one overlimit fee cause your credit score to drop?

I have received my first over the limit fee on my credit card, the credit card company did refund it back to me, but I would like to know if it will drop my score. One person told me it will be reported to the bureaus, so if it is reported will other companys that pull my credit be able to see this charge? Over the limit for a finance charge.. this sucks! Please help and educate, thanks!
